Indiana University has entered into a groundbreaking software agreement with Adobe: the Adobe Education Enterprise License Agreement (Adobe EELA) — the first such agreement between Adobe and any university. As a pilot higher-education agreement for Adobe, this enterprise-wide agreement makes a wide range of Adobe software available to the IU community at no cost on IUware Online:

Individual pricing for Adobe products has often been cost prohibitive for many departments, students, faculty, and staff. This agreement makes Adobe software readily available to the entire IU community.
Adobe software will be available for purchase on physical media at discounted prices in early spring semester 2009. This agreement leverages IU’s capabilities in software distribution, support and training, and advances the teaching, learning, and research goals outlined in IU’s new strategic plan for information technology, “Empowering People: Indiana University’s Strategic Plan for Information Technology.” For more information on the strategic plan, see:

Collaboration systems — for use in administration, research, and faculty and student communication
Systems development — both enterprise-wide and within schools and departments
Creative work — including web content and design, web authoring and development, videography, graphic design, podcasting, 3D animation, and high-impact mobile content

IU students, employees, and faculty emeriti may use the products covered by the Adobe ELA while affiliated with Indiana University. All institutional systems are licensed to use the products during the term of the ELA. Students may install one copy of the licensed software for their use on a personally owned computer at home, whether home is on or off campus. Faculty and staff may use the products on personally owned computers at home for university-related business.
